As I was walking up the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
I wish, I wish he'd go away.
We have met the enemy and they are us!
the high cost of
living isnt so bad if you
dont have to pay for it
Those who gave away their wings are sad not to see them fly.
Clouds, birds, tree tops
The freedom of being on high
Closer to the sun
Further from the slum,
But farther to fall when they die.
I believe if I should die, and you were to walk near my grave, from the very depths of the earth I would hear your footsteps.
You are sad because they abandon you and you have not fallen.
My great day came and went, I do not know how. Because it did not pass through dawn when it came, nor through dusk when it went.
The only interesting answers are those which destroy the questions.
Within your lifetime will, perhaps,
As souvenirs from distant suns
Be carried back to earth some maps
Of planets and you'll find that one's
So hard to color that you've got
To use five crayons. Maybe, not.
No matter how fast light travels it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.
The Great Way has no gate.
Clear water has no taste.
The tongue has no bone.
In complete stillness, a stone girl is dancing.
Alas! must it ever be so?
Do we stand in our own light, wherever we go,
And fight our own shadows forever?
You purchase pain with all that joy can give, and die of nothing but a rage to live.
We dance round in a ring and suppose,
But the Secret sits in the middle and knows.
My whole life is waiting for the questions to which I have prepared answers.
Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all life really means.
Now that it's all over, what did you really do yesterday that's worth mentioning?
Never miss an opportunity to make others happy, even if you have to leave them alone in order to do it.
Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace.
We have to live today by what truth we can get today and be ready tomorrow to call it falsehood.
You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him.
Seek freedom and become captive of your desires. Seek discipline and find your liberty.
Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win.
People cannot go wrong, if you don't let them. They cannot go right, unless you let them.
I make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes.
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are
Face what you think you believe and you will be surprised.
The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice that which we are for what we could become.
Look at everything as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time.
Decorate yourself from the inside out.
Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, a touch that never hurts.
When you start treating people like people, they become people.
If you have to do it every day, for God's sake learn to do it well.
Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.

As I was walking up the stair,
A sea of people
Loneliness is part of being human.
It reminds us that we are not
Complete in ourselves.
People are lonely because they build
Walls instead of bridges.
“We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone.
Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone.”
“The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved.”
“Pray that your loneliness may spur you into finding something to live for, great enough to die for.”
“What loneliness is more lonely than distrust?”
“Alone, all alone Nobody, but nobody Can make it out here alone”
